The way I said a word today
Really scared me
I felt my mouth move in much the same way
As yours would have
And to think that it was you
It was you who said
	No strings attached, baby
I said you hand me a line like that
And then you keep me dangling
			on
I said you hand me a line like that
And then you keep me dangling...
	You watch me hang

But it's purely unintentional
And pretty soon
You'll be doing me, now
If only I could love, if
I could really love you
	You could learn your own
	Nuance
Then when you lift the strings and
		Find yourself
		Wanting your arms around me
(as I have wanted your arms around me
		for so long)
You'll feel the danger in imitation
		It's like voodoo
		Or something, doll

		What are you feeling
		Is it my sympathy
		My sym
		            pathy

The way I said a word today
Really scared me
I felt my mouth move
It moved in much the same way
As yours
Would have
