Evasion: Cycloidic

Controls: Mouse tracking.

Description: One of my ambitions is to build an Aiki Exploratorium, an online environment where the concepts and experience of aikido can be replicated through simple tools like this one

In this case, you get to play the part of the attacker. This sketch demonstrates that proper avoidance techniques cost less energy than attacks. The target circle will avoid being hit, and its evasion pattern is hard to anticipate. Although this simplistic scenario has the target behaving rather passively and allows itself to get pushed around, most of the expense of movement comes from the attacker. The target only moves as much as is necessary to go around the attack, or to return to its preferred "home" position. (That said, it does tend to get a bit nervous when the attacker hovers just within reach...)
